A weekend celebrating Gloucester's diverse neighborhoods, its history, and its geography through the perspectives of the novelists Peter Anastas and Jonathan Bayliss, historian Joseph Garland, and poets Vincent Ferrini and Charles Olson. These five writers - who walked many of the city's neighborhoods - shared an appreciation of each other and a love for the city they spent the bulk of their lives writing about.
Events include short talks, guided walks, readings, slide shows, and a custom boat tour of Gloucester Harbor. Please refer to the preliminary program description when selecting registration options.
Guest registration: If you would like to register for a guest, an option will appear after you have entered your own registration details.
Participant waiver: By registering, you agree that you understand that the conference walks entail walking outside and accept full responsibility for your safety during your participation. You agree that your participation is fully voluntary, and that you will not hold the Jonathan Bayliss Society, Gloucester 400+, and the other conference partners, their employees, or their volunteers responsible for any harm that may result from participation in the conference.
Cancellation policy: If you find you cannot attend, please email a notification to info@jonathanbayliss.org no later than September 1. With the exception of a $15 charge to support fixed conference costs, you will have the option of receiving a refund or making a charitable donation to the Society.
